Twitter Login
Twitter Login is straightforward, however the method varies based on whether you are accessing it on a computer or through the mobile app. We have outlined both procedures in the following steps.
Twitter Website Login
1. Enter your credentials. Upon reaching the Twitter website, you will be presented with fields to enter your username or email and password on the right side. Input either your Twitter username or the email used for registration, along with the related password.
- If you have forgotten your password, click the "Forgot password?" link. You will then be prompted to provide your email address, Twitter username, or phone number to start the password reset process.
- If you do not yet have a Twitter account, refer to this guide for instructions on creating one.
- If you wish for Twitter to remember your login on the computer being used, check the "Remember me" box. This will eliminate the need to log in again on future visits to the site. Avoid checking this option on public computers.
2. Click the "Log In" button, enter your information, then click the "Log In" button again. Upon successful login, you'll be directed to your Twitter home page displaying the latest tweets from your followed accounts.
Twitter Mobile App Login
1. Get the Twitter app by searching for it in your smartphone's app store, it's free and might already be pre-installed on your device.
2. Launch the app. Upon opening Twitter for the first time, you'll be presented with the option to either create a new account or log in with a pre-existing one. If you have a Google device, you'll be asked if you want to use your Google account to create a new Twitter account.
Alternatively, if your Twitter account is linked to your phone number, you can sign in via SMS on an iPhone by entering the code sent to you via text message in the app.
3. Click "Sign In". The button is located at the bottom right of the login screen. Enter your Twitter username or email address and password in the provided fields, then tap "Sign In" again.
Twitter may suggest uploading your phone's contacts to find people you know. This option is checked by default.
5. Follow desired accounts. After selecting friends to add, you'll be presented with Twitter's recommended users to follow. Press the "+" button next to the accounts you wish to follow and hit "Next" once you're finished.
6. Update your profile. After choosing friends and accounts to follow, you'll have the opportunity to edit your profile (this only happens on the first login to the mobile app). Review your profile information to make sure it looks good on a mobile device and make any necessary changes. Once done, tap "Finish".
Note: Long bios can be difficult to read on mobile, so consider shortening it if it's lengthy. You can either set your profile picture to an existing photo on your device or take a new picture using your device's camera.
7. Choose whether to grant Twitter access to your location. After completing your profile, you'll be asked if you want to allow Twitter to access your current location. This will allow Twitter to display tweets from your area. Enable or disable this feature according to your preference.
Signing into Other Websites
1. Visit a website that uses Twitter for login. Many websites that allow for community interaction, such as commenting on articles, provide the option to sign in with your Twitter account. This can be more convenient and help you reduce the number of profiles you have online.
- Ensure that the website you're signing into is reputable, as connecting your Twitter account could potentially expose your personal information and connections.
